Last week on The Rachel Zoe Project, Brad compared being at Oscar's show to being in Paris... which is why I am more than honored to be in attendance this year. Earlier this year I got to visit the lovely people at the ODLR offices and saw some of the gowns in person, and I will tell you this- no one does it like Oscar de la Renta.

chris benz
In all of my recent interviews, I have been asked my favorite designers, and among others I always answer Chris Benz. Why? Look.
Really looking forward to seeing his show this year. If there is anyone I hope to work with this next year- It's him. Fingers crossed.

in my bag
I have been seeing alot of posts on blogs and in magazines featuring what is in everyone's bags. I actually just picked up a new Marc Jacob's bag for my little trip to nyfw ( I was celebrating a very busy work week). Although the one below isn't my MJ, it's by Foley and Corinna, I thought I'd post some things that are always in my bag (including a fav- laura mercier's hydratint, burberry london, and, am I the only person who fills my bags... with bags??)
inspired by this pretty pic below.
foley and corinna, burberry london, anyahindmarch, lauramercier, blackberry, mason martin margiela,

New Marc Jacobs' ad campaign, Oh sorry it's Céline actually
Have you seen Céline's new Fall/Winter 10 ads' campaign? It looks like a Marc Jacob's campaign. How can a company like Céline make such a mistake?
I totally imagine the argument between the marketing team and celebrity photographer Juergen Teller who, yes madam, shot the ads:
- Marketing Manager: "I am sorry Juergen but it looks like an ad from our neighbour Marc Jacobs (both companies belong to LVMH)!"
- Juergen: " Well, I am sorry, I am an artist and that's my style..."
Anyway, this lack of creativity is really depressing... It might be time for these fashion houses to hire younger and emerging photographers to get a bit of a fresh air.
happy friday
Just wrapping up this week with a stunning photo and some great picks. I am working on an amazing project for dkny for fashion week. What an amazing week this was. Back to work!

Only a few days left to visit the impressive Basquiat retrospective in Basel
You only have a few days left to enjoy the first European retrospective of the Urban King of New York, Jean-Michel Basquiat at the beautiful Beyeler Foundation in Basel (closing 5th September 2010).
Basquiat's life was short, Basquiat's life as an artist was shorter. Across his meteor eight years of active artistic production the charismatic and controversial genius managed to paint 1000 paintings and 2000 drawings, using various technics and tools. Amongst these treasures, less than 200 artworks are featured in this amazing exhibition. My sources tell me that it's been really hard for Dieter Buchhart and superman Sam Keller to select them, given that too many collectors wanted to lend their private pieces. Only a few wanted to buy Basquiat when he was alive, everybody was now insisting to lend their million-dollars' jewels. It's quite ironic and does sound Van Gogh's familiar.
What's even more curious is that there had never been any retrospectives in Europe of the artist's oeuvre. “As one of the greatest artists, it’s incredible that there has never been a major show about Basquiat in Europe” said Dieter at the opening night, a sentence that encapsulates the power of the Beyeler Foundation. In fact, which institution would have been able to put up such a perfect show if it hadn't been the Beyeler Foundation?
This retrospective also marks what would have been Basquiat's 50th birthday and showcases the mixed influences of the self-taught artist: from his Haitian and Puerto Rican origins to the New York underground graffiti and music scene. The simple skulls, the vibrant colours and the naive figures will always fascinate me.
